Raul Castro with tight working agenda in New York

RaulCastroNYHAVANA, Cuba, Sep 25 (acn) Cuban President Raul Castro has a tight working agenda today in New York City, United States, that include his attendance to plenary sessions of the UN General Assembly, as well as meetings with US and world leaders.

Raul will be in the UN meeting where Pope Francis will deliver a speech. This meeting will lay the foundations for a Summit to adopt 17 goals of sustainable development for 2015-2030
According to sources from the Cuban delegation, the Cuban President will meet with his Mozambique counterpart Filipe Nyusi and later with New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, who led a business delegation to Cuba last April.

Raul will also meet with several US Congresspeople, including Barbara Lee (California), James McGovern (Massachusetts) and José Serrano, Charles Rangel, Nidia Velázquez and Gregory Meeks, from New York.

The Cuban President arrived in the US city yesterday, in his first official visit to the United States.
In the coming days he will meet with several heads of state that traveled to participate in the UN Assembly, entrepreneurs, members of Solidarity-with-Cuba organizations and Cubans residing in the US.

It is also expected that during his visit Cuba will establish diplomatic relations with Palau and Marshall Islands
