Havana, Oct 23 (Prensa Latina) The Puebla Group condemned on Friday the US blockade against Cuba and thanked the country for its solidarity in a context of US coercive measures and the Covid-19 pandemic.
During a virtual workshop, the members of that forum highlighted Cuba’s heroism in the face of almost 60 years of the US economic, commercial and financial blockade.
On that meeting, Cuba’s Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez emphasized that the US blockade against the nation affects the bond between families and is the main obstacle to the progress of bilateral relations.
The FM referred to a new action by the US Treasury Department that increases the prohibitions on sending remittances from that country to Cuba.
‘This is an additional measure to the sanctions that already exist as part of the US blockade and that have to do with the upcoming elections,’ Rodriguez assured.
According to the minister, the recent US coercive measures cause profound damage to the Cuban family and bring about an extremely negative impact on the economic and social model of the country.
