PSICOSALUD 2017 Event Addresses Important Issues in Cuba

Havana, Nov 2 (Prensa Latina) Uncertainty in patients with chronic renal failure is one of the issues that will be addressed here today in the context of the second day of the 8th International Conference on Health Psychology, Psicosalud 2017.

Delegates from more than 20 countries will exchange about stress, hostility and confrontation and about the updating processes of the Cuban society and the perceptible and predictable psychological tensions to face it.

The event will also be favorable for dialogue at the Havana Conference Center on spirituality in family caregivers and the care in advanced chronic patients, as well as psychotherapeutic modalities in treating alcoholism, according to the agenda.

Other issues are: Drugs consumption in patients; Psicoballet, genuinely Cuban psychotherapeutic-cultural method; and Empathy as an indicator for choice of profession.

According to the president of the organizing committee, Alberto Cobian, the intention of this meeting is that the participants can develop a fluid and broad exchange of ideas on methodological, theoretical and practical aspects of Health Psychology.

When referring to issues addressed by the conclave, he mentioned: family health, health psychology, psychotherapeutic models, maternal and child health and adolescent health, psycho-oncology, human resources training and others.

PSICOSALUD 2017 brings together in this capital until tomorrow delegates from Argentina, Mexico, Uruguay, Peru, Sweden, Norway, Austria, Ecuador, South Africa, Colombia, Spain, Puerto Rico, the United States, the United Kingdom, Italy, Germany and the host country day, among other nations.
