Havana, Feb 3 (Prensa Latina) President of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel, today celebrated in his Twitter account the interview offered by director of the Historian’s Office of Havana, Eusebio Leal, about National Hero José Martí (1853-1895).
‘Eusebio Leal said Martí was a man without hatred. Excellent lecture of the dear historian. #SomosCuba ‘, said the dignitary in his Twitter account @DiazCanelB when referring to the interview granted by the historian to Cuban television and published this Monday by Cubadebate website in its entirety.
However, Marti is a man without hatred, despite being a man of passion, and of passions, a man with whom it was difficult to argue, because he was a man for winning, convincing, to persuade, Leal said in his statements last January 27, the night before the 167th anniversary of the birth of the revolutionary leader, on January 28, 1853.
He is a man capable of forgiving, without forgetting, which is the most important thing, he said when referring to the enormous difficulties endured by Martí since birth because of his humble origin and the preparations he made for the independence of Cuba.
‘He was not a preacher of hate, he was a preacher of the construction of a new nation based on principles of justice, of all possible justice,’ he remarked.
