Pope Francis to visit Havana, Holguin, and Santiago de Cuba

The Vatican authorities, the Cuban government, and the Conference of Catholic Bishops of Cuba agreed on the proposed schedule for the upcoming visit of His Holiness Pope Francis to our country on September 19th-22nd.

Pope Francis will start his Apostolic Journey on Saturday, September 19th, in Havana, where the Cuban government and Havana’s citizens will welcome him.

The next day, the Pope will travel to Holguin where he will celebrate a mass at the Revolution Square Calixto Garcia Iniguez. The same day, he will pay a format visit to the President of the Council of States and Ministers, Army General Raul Castro Ruz and Pope Francis will also meet with Cuban priests, believers, and seminarians at the Havana’s Cathedral. He will meet young people at the Cultural Center Felix Varela as well.

On September 21st, His Holiness will travel to Santiago de Cuba. On Tuesday September 22nd, he will celebrate a mass at the Minor Basilica of the Shrine “Virgen de la Caridad del Cobre”, and he will greet Cuban families living there.

The very same day September 22nd, The Pope will depart from the Heroic City and the authorities and people from our country will see him off.
