Lima, Mar 31 (Prensa Latina) Activists gathered in front of US Ambassador to Peru Lisa Kenna’s residence to protest against the economic, commercial and financial blockade against Cuba.
The demonstrators met at George Washington’s monument and displayed a sign reading ‘Down the economic blockade! Down the Helms-Burton Act! Return Guantanamo! Long live the Cuban Revolution!
‘We are here to support Cuba and its Revolution and condemn the genocidal blockade that the United States has maintained against the island for six decades, without succeeding in bending that heroic brother people,’ the leader of the Peru-Cuba National Solidarity Coordinator, German Renteria, told Prensa Latina.
He added that the protest is part of the world campaign against the blockade against Cuba, which was tightened during the Donald Trump administration.
