Havana, Cuba, Jun 27.- With 365 Special Education centers, Cuba benefits more than 37 thousand students needing that specialized attention.
With this record, Cuba holds the 7th International Congress on Special Education and the 4th Elementary Education Forum, running till June 30 in Havana.
Participants at the forums will share experiences on issues related to special education needs of children, the training of professionals in the area, the role of the family and the use of advanced technology.
Organized by the Cuban Education Ministry and the Center of Latin American Reference for Special Education, the event includes key-note lectures, round table discussions, international courses and visits to local education schools.
Special Education has been a priority for the Cuban government and it is marked by high-quality and systematic attention of children needing such kind of education. (acn)
