Hanoi, Jul 25 (Prensa Latina) The traditional commemoration in Vietnam of the assault on the Moncada Garrison in Cuba took place this Saturday in the northern province of Vinh Phuc, in the year when both countries celebrate the 60th anniversary of their diplomatic relations.
The Cuban ambassador here, Lianys Torres, meant that these days the two nations have again shown their close friendship by sending each other medical material to support them in their fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.
The diplomat praised the results achieved by Vietnam and Cuba in the face of the disease and said that although it has forced a rethinking of the original program for the 60 years of their diplomatic relations, the celebrations will be worthy of such a memorable occasion.
In Vinh Phuc, as in every place in the Vietnamese geography where we arrive, we always find the same special feelings of friendship towards Cuba, he said.
For his part, Le Duy Thanh, undersecretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam and vice-president of the People’s Committee of the province, highlighted the historical significance of the assault on Moncada and the results of bilateral cooperation in these six decades of exemplary relations.
Torres and other Cuban diplomats toured the non-state-owned Viet Duc Steel, one of the main steel companies in the country, and other places of interest in Vinh Phuc, including one of its main tourist and nature conservation sites, the Tam Dao National Park.
