MITM Americas Havana, an Aditional Opportunity for Cuban Tourism

Havana, Aug 2 (Prensa Latina) The 22nd edition of MITM Americas Havana, to be held here in September, is today an additional opportunity for Cuban tourism, recognized by most tour operators and travel agents.

This meeting is an important key to the travel modalities related to congresses, meetings and incentive visits, one of the most stable markets in the tourism world.

This is the third such call for this destination, which ratifies the island as an ideal setting for debates and business opportunities in the world of this type of travel.

The MICE B2B international trade fair is the most influential and pioneering in the Americas and the Caribbean, as conceived by tourism professionals.

Scheduled for the Meliá Cohiba Hotel in this capital city from September 18-21, it will provide the entire Cuban tourism industry with a unique opportunity to promote the services, infrastructure and wonders offered by Cuba.

MITM Americas Havana will bring together around 100 international buyers from 30 countries (mainly Europe and the United States).

Tour operators consider the event to be the highest level of the meeting tourism industry for three days in Havana.

In addition, attendees will have the opportunity to get to know the rest of the island to complete their incentive programs, congresses and conventions.

The participants are directors of corporate companies (19 per cent), incentive agencies (27 per cent), meeting planners (25), international associations (10) as well as tour operators (19).

In the context of this edition, the I Congress of Actual (Association for the Development of Culture and Tourism in Latin America) will be held.

More than 200 agencies and tour operators, mostly from Latin America, were invited by the organizers to this congress.

The method of this meeting is through pre-established appointments that are met at 99.9 percent.

An exclusive networking program (network), along with an agenda of up to 30 appointments, ensures contact between all participants, strengthening strong business links.

Until this day the organizers have received 500 registrations from companies from 47 countries interested in participating.

The two previous editions held in Cuba: Varadero (2004) and Havana (2009), contributed significantly to the incursion and development of Cuba in this tourism sector.

MITM Americas ( is a significant opportunity, especially at a time when Havana is busy preparing to celebrate its 500th anniversary (November 16, 2019).

The sponsorship of this business meeting is mainly carried out by the Cuban Ministry of Tourism (Mintur) accompanied by the Ecotur Travel Agency (among others), which is dedicated to nature travel issues.

GSAR Marketing (headquartered in Spain) is the main organizer of the meeting.

This MICE tourism is the acronym in English for the tourism of meetings, incentives, congresses and exhibitions.
