Matanzas, Cuba, Dec 19 (Prensa Latina) Directors of the Regional Innovation System of Matanzas, Cuba, and the Science and Technological Park of Yucatan, Mexico (PCTY), continued their exchanges here as part of the International Technical Mission: Building and Strengthening Capacities.
Included in Wednesday’s session was a technical workshop and a presentation by the Research, Projects and Engineering Enterprise of Matanzas; and a visit to the Indio Hatuey Experimental Pasture and Forage Station.
Luis Alberto Garcia Dominguez, department head of the Research Secretariat of the Government of Yucatan, also explained that the PCTY’s mission is to promote the technological development and competitiveness of that Mexican state.
According to Garcia Dominguez, these actions occur through the knowledge and technology transfer between academic and productive sectors and the government, with the aim of contributing to the creation, development and incubation of technology-based and innovative companies.
The expert noted this includes the training of high-level human resources and the promotion of economic, social and environmental development to benefit the people.
The meeting’s program, scheduled until December 19, includes a panel of successful Matanzas enterprises, as well as a special tour of the tourist development areas of the nearby Varadero resort, the largest and most important in Cuba.
