Seven local businesspersons recently traveled to Havana, Cuba, representing Jeff Davis Parish (JDP) to discuss the possibility of agricultural trade with the people of Louisiana.
The commissioner of agriculture and forestry, Mike Strain, led the 94-person delegation to Cuba, promoting economic development, tourism and agriculture trade.
Representing JDP were Ronnie Petree, David and Lorraine Bertrand, Chuck and Karen Henderson, and Paul and Anne Guillory.
Petree explained the importance of establishing more markets for agricultural products, especially Louisiana products.
