Lizt Alfonso’s Dance Cuba Premieres New Show

Havana, May 13 (Prensa Latina) The Lizt Alfonso Dance Cuba will premiere on Saturday a new show, entitled “Latido” (Heartbeat), with music composed by one of the main exponents of Latin jazz worldwide, the Cuban saxophonist Cesar Lopez.

‘Latido’ resulted from the enormous contrast between death, which can occur at any moment, and life, which also appears in an instant, Lizt Alfonso, a choreographer and director of the company, told the press to explain the new project.

The work will be premiered this Saturday and will be on stage for three consecutive weekends until May 28 at the Alicia Alonso Great Theater in Havana.

One evening in 2013, Alfonso met with a dear friend and great admirer of the company on the street, they talked about life, a day later he returned to his country, Mexico, and someone called her at night to tell her that her friend had died.
