Havana, Feb 24 (Prensa Latina) Strengthening alliances and the use of information technologies stand out today among priorities of the computerization process of Cuban society, highlight today government sources.
As the viceminister of IT and Communications, Wilfredo Gonzalez, in that direction it is essential to accelerate sure development of technological infrastructure and incentivize the programs of research and innovation that allow to raise the quality of services.
During the analysis of the work in 2017 of the Entrepreneurial Group for IT and Communications (GEIC), the head of that group, Grisel Reyes, emphasized that it is a target for this year to boost sustainable development of the country, contribute to its defense and national sovereignty.
In that sense, she insisted, the need to implement online services between institutions and citizens, with priority in procedures, the government management and electronic commerce.
She also called to boost and improve the foreign trade activity of GEIC, in order to increase and diversify exports and attract foreign investment.
Evaluating work of that group, created in 2014, and on occasion of the Day of Communications this February 24, several of the executives as Zoraya Lopez, of Segurmatica, underlined the reach of joint projects with the non-State sector and the role of the Joven Clubs.
They also praised the response given by GEIC workers to the recovery of the country after the recent hit by hurricane Irma and in the reestablishment of medular services in the area of communications.
