Investments Will Continue to Boost Hotel Infrastructure in Havana

Havana, Dec 31 (Prensa Latina) The capital of Cuba, which will celebrate its 500th anniversary next November, is decorated today with the execution of ambitious tourist investments that will provide it with singular brightness that national and foreign people will be able to enjoy.
According to recent statements by Tourism Minister (Mintur) Manuel Marrero, Havana is pushing forward the construction of high standard facilities to meet the demands of some of international groups visiting the city, for instance, businesspersons.

Of the city’s 12,000 rooms, 44 percent falls category 2 and 3 stars, the official estimated, making it vital to open accommodations that meet higher standards such as the recently inaugurated Iberostar Grand Packard and the Prado y Malecon that will open its doors at the end of 2019.

He also considered that, thanks to the introduction of a new business modality in hotel management and marketing contracts, which includes financing, the emblematic Riviera and Habana Libre hotels were revitalized.

Havana, venue of the International Tourism Fair 2019, next May, will premiere 12 new accommodations in the near future and will incorporate 1,121 rooms that are out of service today, Havana Tourism Delegate Xonia Beltrán pointed out.

Some of the new hotels -or refurbished- that will open their doors in the coming months, as announced, are Hotel Linea y N, Hotel Cueto, Marques de Monte Hermoso, Gran Hotel, Prado y Malecon, Hotel Vedado Azul, Hotel Universitario and Portales de Paseo.
