International Red Cross met with President Maduro in Miraflores Palace

April 9 (Orinoco Tribune) The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, held a meeting Tuesday with representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross, chaired by Peter Maurer, to coordinate the work agenda.

The meeting was held at the Miraflores Palace in Caracas; in which the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Jorge Arreaza, participated.

Earlier, Maurer held a meeting with the Venezuelan chancellor in order to “strengthen cooperation agreements” with the Red Cross delegation, which arrived in the country last Sunday.

On March 29, the International Red Cross reported that humanitarian cooperation would begin in Venezuela, after the Venezuelan government approval within 15 days. The aid is expected to start being delivered this Friday the 12th in different hospitals and health facilities in Venezuela. The Venezuelan government gave authorization for Christian and Catholic churches to also contribute in the distribution efforts.
