International Fair of Tourism Starts in Cuba

Ciego de Ávila, Cuba, May 5 (Prensa Latina) With tour operators assistance, travel agents, representatives of airlines, hotel companies and the specializing press of 40 countries began today in Jardines del Rey (Gardens of the King) the 35th International Fair of Tourism of Cuba.

Considered the largest marketplace of the tourist industry in the Island, FITCuba-2015 will extend until May 7th and it is dedicated to Italy as invited country and to the nautical activity.

This year for the first time the event has two important spaces, one is the business exhibition dedicated to the promotion of opportunities of the tourist companies and the second one is the providers’ sample, with the assistance of national and foreign producers.

In the first work day there are the conference of the Cuban minister of tourism, Manuel Marrero and of the Deputy Minister of cultural goods and tourism of Italy, Francesca Barracciu. Also there will speak Carlos Vogeler, representative for the Americas of the World Organization of Tourism.

FitCuba 2015 takes as a main head office the hotel Meliá Jardines del Rey, newly inaugurated in Cayo Coco.

With a hotel network of 17 hotels and more than 6,000 rooms, the region attracts for its flora with species of high ornamental and timber-yielding value and an abundant fauna, among them the birds, with the most numerous colony of pink Flemingos of the area.
