Greek solidarity movement condemns US blockade against Cuba

Athens, Jun 2 (Prensa Latina) Members of the Solidarity with Cuba Movement in Greece condemned the US blockade against the island for over 60 years and called for its lifting.

The ceremony convened by the Greek-Cuban Association of Friendship and Solidarity took place in the premises of the Makronisos Museum, in this capital.

Nikos Karandreas and Nikos Leontidis, president and a member of that association respectively, analyzed how unjust and obsolete that US Cuba policy is and its effects on Cubans’ lives and development.

One more time, both ratified the Greek people’s solidarity with its Cuban brothers and sisters and called for the immediate lifting of the blockade, accodring to the source.

For his part, Cuban Ambassador to Greece Aramis Fuente Hernandez discussed elements of the blockade since its beginning, the characteristcis and ways in which the different US administrations have enforced and tightened it, as well as the damages it causes to Cuban economy.

Other attendees were the member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of Greece, Giorgos Marinos, Latin American residents in that country and other representatives of solidarity with Cuba organizations.
