Governor Edwards to travel to Cuba for trade mission

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) – On Monday, October 3, Governor John Bel Edwards will be traveling to the island nation of Cuba.

At one time, Louisiana was one of the top trading partners with Cuba. This five-day trip looks to help rebuild those economic ties. Also participating in the trip are Agriculture Commissioner Mike Strain, Economic Development Secretary Don Pierson, and DOTD Secretary Shawn Wilson.

The governor’s office says port officials will also make the trip.
