Paris, Dec 4 (Prensa Latina) France’s government on Friday reiterated its rejection of the US economic, commercial and financial blockade and the extraterritorial nature of that policy applied for six decades.
Paris established its position against the US blockade during the celebration via videoconference of the 5th Bilateral Economic and Commercial Commission, a forum in which the French delegation was headed by the Minister in charge of Foreign Trade at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Franck Riester.
The European country supports in the UN General Assembly the resolution that establishes the need for Washington to end the blockade, a document that year after year since 1992 receives strong support in the multilateral body.
On Friday’s virtual meeting allowed the governments of France and Cuba to review the progress made by sectors in the Economic Agenda signed in February 2016 and to ratify their willingness to deepen institutional and cooperation links in areas such as health, transport, renewable sources of energy, tourism, agriculture and sustainable urban development.
France is among the top ten trading partners of Cuba, relations with growth potential, despite the extraterritorial impact of the US blockade.
In the forum, the Minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment Rodrigo Malmierca presided over the Cuban part of the forum stressing the importance of those annual meetings to measure the progresses and draw future guidelines.
