La Paz, Jan 1 (Prensa Latina) Bolivian President Evo Morales on Tuesday celebrated the 60th anniversary of the triumph of the Cuban Revolution and the people’s victory led by Fidel Castro over the tyranny of Fulgencio Batista (1955-1959).
‘Like today, 1959, with the triumph of the Cuban Revolution, the light of hope and the invincible will emerged for the liberation of the peoples. We celebrate the victory of Commander Fidel Castro and the courageous Cuban people over the pro-imperialist dictatorship of Fulgencio Batista,’ Morales posted on his Twitter account.
Local media also highlighted the internationally recognized Cuban anniversary and social achievements, despite the tightening of the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States for more than 50 years.
According to official estimates, between April 2017 and March 2018, the US siege cost Cuba more than 4.3 billion dollars, and the losses to the nation in almost six decades of that hostile policy totaled 933.6 billion dollars.
