ETECSA and Verizon Sign Agreement for Direct Voice Traffic

HAVANA, Cuba, Mar 14 (acn) Cuba’s Telecommunications Company S.A. (ETECSA) and Verizon Partner Solutions, the wholesale unit of the U.S. company Verizon Communications Inc., have completed negotiations and signed an agreement on direct interconnection for the exchange of international voice traffic between the U.S. and Cuba.

This agreement will initially allow to offer services of phone calls through direct interconnection between the two countries and will become operational once the implementation period and the technical tests performed by both operators end.

Verizon is a New York-based company that provides global communication services.
