Santo Domingo, April 3 (Prensa Latina) The Dominican Campaign for Solidarity with Cuba has condemned on Friday the economic, commercial and financial US blockade against Cuba, according to a letter sent to the UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres.
In the letter, Dominicans asked Guterres to talk to the US government to respect the Resolutions issued by the UN for nearly 30 years, requesting the lifting of unjust blockade.
‘In the face of the Covid-19 pandemic that is currently affecting the entire humankind, endangering the health of the whole world, it is inhumane to maintain a blockade that includes food and medical supplies against a nation that has never attacked any other, and only claims internal political sovereignty.’
Likewise, they asked for special respect for Cuban doctors who provides medical assistance worldwide, whose professional work is in jeopardized by discredit and threat campaign against them promoted by imperial powers.
In the face of the world health crisis, this is no longer a demand for political abuse, but a cry for humanity. It is our faith, the world will survive; but we are sorry that it can only do so whether it meets a healthy scientific development used for the human being, for love rather than for commerce.
