Havana, July 19 ( Prensa Latina ) Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel welcomed Ghanaian Vice President Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia at the Palace of the Revolution this Friday.
Diaz-Canel and Bawumia reviewed the bilateral relations and expressed their willingness to continue expanding them in different fields.
Both leaders also talked about issues on the international agenda.
In the morning, the Ghanaian Vice President paid tribute to Kwame Nkrumah, founder of the African country, which celebrates this year the 60th anniversary of diplomatic ties, friendship and cooperation with Cuba.
Mawadi, in front of a bust of Nkrumah, in the African Heroes Park in Havana, praised the role played by Cuba in the African struggle against colonialism and for its independence.
More than 1,000 young Ghanaians have graduated as professionals in the Caribbean nation and 458 others are studying at Cuban higher education centers.
