Diaz-Canel prepares to welcome UNESCO Director-General

Havana, Dec 4 (Prensa Latina) President of Cuba Miguel Diaz-Canel highlighted on Wednesday the official visit by the Director-General of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), Audrey Azoulay, who will arrive in Cuba this evening.
On his Twitter account, the president advanced the welcome to Azoulay, and recalled the country’s cooperation ties with the agency she directs.

According to the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during her stay the head of UNESCO, who was elected November 10, will hold official talks with authorities, and visit the Convent of Santa Clara and Rafael Maria de Mendive Elementary School, recently restored, where National Hero Jose Marti studied.

UNESCO has among its objectives to promote international cooperation, and its programs contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals defined in the 2030 Agenda, approved by the United Nations General Assembly in 2015.
