Delegates from 45 Countries to Attend Environment Convention in Cuba

Havana, Jun 17.- Over 1,200 delegates from at least 45 countries will participate at the X International Convention on Environment and Development, which will be held from July 6 to 10 in Havana.

This convention aims to promote cooperation between countries, exchange experiences and knowledge that are in tune with the new concept of economic, social and environmentally sustainable development for present and future generations.

The personalities who have confirmed their presence include the Ministers of El Salvador, Chile, Vietnam, Angola, Congo, Algeria and Namibia’s Deputy Minister.

Representatives of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) will also attend the convention; as well as officials of the United Nations Convention on Climate Change, Environment agencies from several countries in Latin America and the Caribbean, and principals and teachers from various universities.

The convention is made up of six conferences, three symposia, four seminars and a workshop.

Parallel to the meeting, an exhibition fair of technologies, projects and environmental experiences will take place at the Palace of Conventions in Havana. (Prensa Latina)
