Havana, Jan 19 (Prensa Latina) Cuban historian Pedro Pablo Rodríguez will receive the National Cultural Research Award 2017 on January 24, for the work of life, the Juan Marinello Institute announced today.
A jury composed of Graziella Pogolotti as president, Juan Jesus Guanche, Araceli Garcia-Carranza, Luisa Campuzano and Carlos Venegas, as members, decided to award the prize unanimously to this doctor in Historical Sciences who has an extensive and excellent historiographical work.
The communiqué of the Cuban Institute of Cultural Research Juan Marinello highlights the Martian bibliography because it can be considered monumental just by mentioning a part of it: the 27 volumes of the critical edition of the Apostle José Martí.
From 1970 to date, Rodriguez has published more than 15 books as well as numerous articles and essays in almost 30 Cuban journals and other publications of about a dozen countries in Latin America, the United States, and Europe.
He has also participated as a speaker in more than 150 national and international scientific meetings and develops a teaching work as intense as his research work.
Because of its immense and excellent legacy to our cultural heritage, this intellectual of Cuban and for Cuba will always figure in the best of our national bibliography, the statement affirms.
