Cuba’s diplomacy is based on its people and the Revolution

Havana, Dec 23 (Prensa Latina) President of Cuba Miguel Diaz-Canel stated on Monday that Cuban diplomacy has the people as its main protagonist and is a reflection of the principles of the Revolution.

At the very heart of this institution are the ideas of Cuban National Hero, Jose Marti, the Commander-in-Chief, Fidel Castro, and the unforgettable Foreign Minister Raul Roa, stressed Diaz-Canel on addressing the political and cultural gala to mark the 60th anniversary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Minrex).

‘Our diplomats stand with the people in the defense of independence and national sovereignty,’ the president stressed in the Universal Hall of the Revolutionary Armed Forces, in this capital.

Thanks to their work, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs now has the respect and admiration of the international community, including our adversaries, so that the new generations of this service can be nourished by a history of commitment and dedication, Diaz-Canel added.

The creation of the Ministry led to great victories of the Revolution and today continues in primary tasks such as the battle against the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States for almost six decades, he continued.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has remained true to its founding principles, and at present, in the midst of the difficulties, it will overcome with creativity and industriousness any obstacles that may arise, because it is also the people of Cuba, he concluded.
