Havana, May 19 (Prensa Latina) Cuba’s Minister of Finance and Prices Meisi Bolaños affirmed yesterday that the State budget has as its main priorities the support of public healthcare in the plan of action to fight against the Covid-19 pandemic; in addition to agricultural food production.
In the Mesa Redonda radio-television programme, the minister noted that all the attention and healthcare of the population are guaranteed with the budget.
She emphasized in supporting agricultural producers, who need their incomes to ensure their productions and family expenses, mainly because this sector is the country’s first priority.
Bolaños unfolded they have adopted over 34 measures in the financial and budgetary sector and even in the area of insurance, and stressed that the main priority is to save lives.
She said budgets and financing are reoriented to healthcare activities, and other weighty issues, to accommodation centers created for isolation, such as universities, among others.
The minister called for boosting electronic payments, which has grown by 20 percent, by over 21,000 taxpayers, and for increasing e-trade.
She also reported that over 372,000 people have benefited from deferred payments, in order to contribute to social isolation in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.
Meisi Bolaños stood out teleworking and remote work have been prevailed as a measure to protect workers and urged for greater savings.
