Ottawa, Mar 28 (Prensa Latina) Cubans and friends of Cuba in seven Canadian cities joined the global caravan taking place on Sunday to demand an end of the United States economic blockade against Cuba.
Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa, Vancouver, Victoria, Calgary and Winnipeg began their contribution to the global demand to end a policy that US citizens themselves describe as irrational and criminal.
The protesters called for building bridges of love and demanded #NoMasBloqueo (#NoMoreBlockade) against the Cuban people!, according to a tweet from the organizers.
The participants joined events that started on Saturday in countries of Europe, Africa and Latin America to demand the end of the US blockade against Cuba by holding rallies, caravans and other solidarity events.
On Saturday, Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel posted on his Twitter account that ‘The fight for fairness unites us,’ while other participants in the solidarity events pointed out that the Cubans ‘understand love, not hate,’ in rejection of the aggressive policies by successive US governments.
