Yaguajay, Sancti Spíritus.– The role of younger generations, who often assume strategic tasks to support key aspects of national development, was highlighted in the context of a voluntary work day to mark the 55th anniversary of the Young Communists League (UJC) and the 56th anniversary of the José Martí Pioneers Organization (OPJM), to be celebrated this April 4.

Although this productive celebration saw activities held throughout the country, Sancti Spíritus served for the second consecutive occasion as host of the national event, with the mobilization of some 3,000 young people to Batey Colorao, in Yaguajay municipality, a site belonging to the Valle del Caonao Agroindustrial Grain Enterprise, where they helped in the collection of beans and the planting of sweet potatoes and cassava.
