Matanzas, Cuba, Mar 3 (Prensa Latina) Cuban tourism grew by 15 percent at the end of the 2017 first two months relating to last year, the Cuban Minister of Tourism Manuel Marrero stated.
Manuel Marrero told Prensa Latina about the wonderful response by tour operators for this increase and the work at the airports. He harped on boosting the quality of services for customers.
He highlighted the program currently implemented in Cuba for lodging increase, and cited the investments in the northern cays, Holguín; and in the south coast (Cienfuegos, Trinidad and Santiago de Cuba).
He recalled that around 4 million 35 thousand foreign visitors visited Cuba last year and achieved records in revenues and profits thanks to the government, tourist institutions, non-state sector and the population itself.
‘It is not only a plan for the fulfillment of a date, but as a mechanism to improve Matanzas province and tourism as well’, he stressed.
We have some reasons, ‘Matanzas is the province where Cuba’s most important tourist resort is located (Varadero), but we have not exploited all the potential this region is boasting about.’
