Cuban Resort Varadero Increases Accommodations

Varadero, Cuba, Dec 3 (Prensa Latina) With the official opening of the first stage of the Hotel Vista Azul, this resort, the most important in Cuba, increased by 470 rooms the accommodations for tourists.

This hotel, run by the group Gaviota and the H-10 Management Chain from Spain will reach 1000 rooms in 2016, said representatives from the ministry of Tourism (Mintur) in Matanzas.

According to Mintur, Varadero will have 20,566 rooms for tourists by the end of this year, while the whole province of Matanzas will total 21,153 rooms.

Varadero, known as Playa Azul, located 140 kilometers from Havana across the northern coast, was visited in September by more than one million foreign tourists.

Foreign surveys pointed out that Varadero is amid the ten main sun and beach destinations in the world.
