Cuban residents in France condemn new crusade against the island

Paris, Jun 22 (Prensa Latina) The Coordinating Committee of Cuban Residents in France on Monday repudiated the intention by three US senators to affect the Caribbean nation’s medical cooperation with other countries, a position described as unseemly and political maneuvering.

In a statement signed by several organizations, the committee denounced the objective by Republican Senators Rick Scott (Florida), Marco Rubio (Florida) and Ted Cruz (Texas) to impose with electoral purposes their cruel intentions on the entire American continent and the rest of the world.

The senators introduced a bill on Wednesday called ‘Cut Profits to the Cuban Regime Act,’ to threaten the beneficiary countries of the island’s health collaboration by accusing them of being accomplices of an alleged human trafficking.

About this issue, the Coordinating Committee described the congressmen, known for their aggressiveness and hatred towards the island, as illusionists of the law and highlighted the humanist role played by the Caribbean nation in the last few decades, with millions of lives saved across the planet thanks to the solidarity work.

According to the Cuban residents in France, the current health crisis due to the Covid-19 pandemic has demonstrated the effectiveness of the island’s health system and its internationalist solidarity, expressed in more than 2,500 health professionals who traveled to nearly 30 countries to fight the virus.
