Matanzas, Cuba, Dec 21 (Prensa Latina) The Cuban puppet company, Teatro de las Estaciones, is offering a special performance – Christmas Tale – on December 25th, with a performance of the poem Naranjas y Limas, by Nicolás Guillén, the Cuban National Poet.
The show will take place at the Sala Pepe Camejo in Matanzas, 100 kilometers east of Havana, which is home of the artistic group founded more than two decades ago.
Christmas Tale is show for the whole family. It will recreate the spirit of Christmas with dances and traditional carols from Cuba and the Caribbean with Latin American rhythms.
Ruben Darío Salazar, the director of the group and in charge of general management, said that the show tells the traditional story of Joseph and Mary on the road to Nazareth, the three wise men of the East, the star of Bethlehem and the animals of the creole Nativity.
Salazar is in charge of the artist direction of the show, the set design is by Zenén Calero and the choreography by Liliam Padrón, who directs the collective Danza Espiral.
Teatro de las Estaciones has won numerous national and foreign awards, both individual and collective, and toured several countries.
