
Havana, Apr 6 (Prensa Latina) The president of Cuba, Miguel Diaz-Canel, today acknowledged the work of the Center for the State Control of Medicines, Equipment and Medical Devices (Cecmed), a few days after its 30th anniversary.
Congratulations on the 30th anniversary of Cecmed, Cuba’s prestigious scientific and health institution, he wrote in his Twitter account @DiazCanelB.
Created on April 21, 1989, Cecmed is the Drug Regulatory Authority of the Republic of Cuba responsible for promoting and protecting public health.
The day before, at a ceremony held at the Havana Convention Center, the Minister of Public Health, José Ángel Portal, acknowledged the center’s trajectory and described Cecmed as an essential institution for the country.
A few days ago, Havana hosted the First International Regulatory Meeting of Medicines and Medical Devices, attended by representatives of some twenty nations.
