Cuban president meets with Japanese Government’s special envoy

Havana, Dec 21 (Prensa Latina) Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel met on Friday with Keiji Furuya, Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe’s special envoy, official sources reported.

The Presidency of Cuba twitted a photo of the meeting, which was held in a ‘friendly’ atmosphere at the Palace of the Revolution, where the two parties highlighted the good state of bilateral relations.

Those ties got stronger after Abe’s visit to Cuba in September 2016, when the two countries ratified their common will to expand and diversify relations, above all trade and cooperation.

Cuba and Japan maintain close cooperation in several fields, according to official sources.
