“We want to show to the world that Minnesota has a really great, wonderful Afro-Latino community,” Herera said in an interview. “And we also want to use the music as a good language to always keeping and bringing the people together.”
And bringing the people together, he will. The Minnesota Youth Symphonies, St. Peter AME Church Choir, his own Havana Jazz Social Club, Grupo De Danzas Colombianas are on board for the evening. Those who would rather hear Herrera in a more intimate setting might want to check out his performance at the Dakota in Minneapolis on Dec. 14.
