Matanzas, Cuba, Oct 6.- Cuban artist, Leonardo Rodriguez, is celebrating here his 25 years as bonsai grower, through the exhibition entitled “Anhelos,” which after one week of being opened receives the public”s favor.
The exhibit takes place at the subsidiary of the National Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba (UNEAC) in Matanzas, located 100 kilometers east of Havana, and will be open until October 9.
The display includes 10 pieces considered by the artist as his most successful ones, among them, miniature trees especially laurel, but also the species known as larkspur, güira and jagüey.
Rodriguez stated that he has been working many of those miniature trees more than two decades ago, specifically with Japanese and Chinese techniques.
Throughout his career, Rodriguez has studied and also implemented the cultivation of the ancient technique, also based on Vietnamese, Korean and American ways.(Prensa Latina)
