 Cuban FM calls for international cooperation against Covid-19

Havana, Mar 17 (Prensa Latina) Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez on Tuesday called for international cooperation, solidarity and the reinforcement of health care to combat the coronavirus outbreak.

Covid-19 is a global threat and fighting it is everyone’s responsibility. The prevention and contention of the new coronavirus need the efforts from the entire international community, the foreign minister wrote on his Twitter account.

‘Let’s reinforce health care, solidarity and international cooperation. That is the path,’ he twitted.

Cuban health authorities are ready on Tuesday to receive the British cruise ship MS Braemar, which carries more than 1,000 people and at least five of them tested positive for the disease.

Rodriguez confirmed on Monday the authorization from Havana for the cruise ship to dock in Cuba, in response to a request from the government of the United Kingdom, and the risk of the sick travelers on broad.
