Cuban factory assembles first 7 thousand tablets and laptopsHAVANA, Cuba, Mar 23 (acn) The Industrial Company for Informatics, Communications and Electronics (GEDEME by its Spanish acronym) of this city assembled the first 3,500 laptops and 3,583 tablets for governmental agencies and organizations.

The initiative responds to the will of the Cuban government to continue expanding, to the extent of financial possibilities, the secure computerization of society.
Fernando Fernandez, Chief of the Computer Solutions Project, told ACN that for the current year the goal is to reach 50,000 units, from the arrival of the parts and components provided by the Chinese company Haier, with which agreements were signed for the transfer of technologies.
