Cuban Embassy Honors Fidel Castro in Argentina

Buenos Aires, Nov 24 (Prensa Latina) Members of the Cuban Embassy in Argentina on Saturday paid tribute to the historic leader of the revolution, Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro, at an emotional ceremony on the occasion of the second anniversary of his death, on November 25, 2016.

Fidel’s legacy and the commitment to continue defending the Revolution and socialism was endorsed by the members of the Cuban diplomatic mission at a tribute that was full of symbolism and patriotism.

A few hours before the second anniversary of Fidel Castro’s death, the Embassy’s culture secretary, Yadira Alvarez, said on behalf of all participants in the event, presided over by Cuban Ambassador to Argentina Orestes Perez, that we must go ahead, carrying the Cuban flag high in each task.

We must revive our history every day, we must make revolution under your illuminated vision, make each gesture and work a new Moncada action, the diplomat said in a heartfelt speech dedicated to the Commander-in-Chief of the Cubans.

Several activities have been held in Argentina this week to honor the historic leader and to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Cuban Revolution, which Fidel Castro headed in 1959, becoming an example and a guide for many people who are currently fighting for a better world.

Applauses, emotions and ovations for Cuba and Fidel were repeatedly expressed at each event in the framework of the 8th Conference of the Latin American Council of Social Sciences, in which two of the Cuban Five, Gerardo Hernandez and Ramon Labañino, as well as a large delegation of intellectuals, thinkers and academics from Cuba, participated.
