Cuban Artists To Perform in Peru In Event for Unity of Latin America

Lima, Mar 27 (Prensa Latina) Outstanding Cuban artists will participate in the Great Activity of Continental Solidarity ”For the Social Articulation of Our America” included in the social summit, side event of the 8th Summit of the Americas, said organizers.

The United National Command for the Struggle (CNUL) said that the Cuban music group “Elito Reve y su Charangon” singers Mauricio Figueiral, Eduardo Sosa, Pepe Ordaz, Adrian Berazain and Hector Gutierrez will participate in the political-cultural event of continental solidarity.

CNUL sources highlighted the importance of the event, to be held in the framework of the People’s Summit from April 10th to 14th, and confirmed the performance of Peruvian folk artists Walter Humala and Luis Enrique Alvisuri.

The Great Activity of Continental Solidarity will be held on April 14th at the National University of San Marcos, the first in America and the most important of Peru.

Organizers said that the event and the Peoples’ Summit seek to consolidate the unity and validity of the progressive and anti-imperialist thinking of the Latin American peoples.

They also seek to support the rights of those in need, while condemning the attempts of the imperialism to dominate the region and the irresponsible social policies of the regional oligarchies.

CNUL also urged participants of the Social Summit, members of people’s movements, unions, networks, platforms of civil society, indigenous peoples, feminist and youth organizations, political parties and progressive and left-wing social movements throughout the continent to attend the event.
