HAVANA, Cuba, May 8 (acn) Cuba won three gold medals in the men´s freestyle event of the Pan American Wrestling Championship hosted by the Brazilian city of Salvador de Bahia.
Dabián Quintana, in the 61 kilograms, opened the golden harvest with a 10-0 win over host David Washington Dos Santos; and then came the successes of Franklin Marén (65) and Yurieski Torreblanca (86).
Marén thus got his second crown in these contests after defeating a tough opponent like Puerto Rico’s Franklin Gomez, silver medalist at Istanbul 2011 World Championships and Guadalajara 2011 Pan American champion, his same victim in the tournament of Panama 2013.
