Cuba will present achievements in human rights in Geneva

Havana, May 2 (Radio Cadena Agramonte) – The progress made during the past five years in the field of human rights will be presented by the Cuban delegation, the next 16 of May, in the universal periodic review, which will take place in Geneva, Switzerland.

This is a mechanism under the auspices of the Council for Human Rights, an organ of the United Nations, to which Cuba was submitted earlier in February 2009 and May 2013.

The Cuban Chancellery carried a report on achievements in the enjoyment of human rights and the access to health, education, culture, food and the technologies of information and communication technologies.

The document includes a commitment in the fight against discrimination, the promotion of gender equality and the care of children, the elderly and people with disabilities.

It also includes details of the collaboration of the Greater one of the Antilles with other countries of the world, with those who are in solidarity in the face of the goal to preserve the right to life and to human well-being.

The universal review will allow Cuba denounce once again the impact in terms of human rights of the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States for 55 years. (ACN/PL) (Photo: File)
