Cuba-Turkey Business Committee Held in Havana

Havana, Feb 27 (Prensa Latina) The First Session of the Cuba-Turkey Business Committee is taking place on Wednesday in Havana focused on sectors such as energy, mining, agriculture, cargo and passenger transport at sea, biotechnology and health.

The event program includes a presentation of the Mariel Special Development Zone, an important economic enclave in Cuba.

The signing of the Action Plan of the Cuba-Turkey Business Committee for the 2019-2020 period is also on the list.

Its objective is to strengthen bilateral trade relations through direct exchange between companies, attract Turkish investments in sectors of interest for both countries, boosting exports of Cuban products and services to Turkey and supply products from the European country to Cuba.

The Plan also includes the participation in fairs and exhibitions in both countries.

The event will include business meetings and visits to Cuban counterparts from the sectors present in the business delegation, Cuba´s Chamber of Commerce said in a press release.

The First Session of the Business Committee takes place as a part of the official visit to Cuba of a Turkish delegation chaired by Deputy Trade Minister Gonca Yilmaz Batur.
