Matanzas, Cuba, Sept 3 (Prensa Latina) Technical and historical aspects of the museums and its links with the community on Museology and Society, will center the debates of the 5th National Workshop, programmed to be celebrated from September 21 to 23, reported today the organizers.
The event is sponsored by the Cuban chapter of the International Committee of Museums (ICOM, for its initials in English), the Center of the Cultural Heritage of the province of Matanzas, and the Junco’s Palace Museum of this metropolis, 100 kilometers east of Havana.
Olga Lidia González, member of the managing committee, communicated tole to reporters of Prensa Latina that the program of the meeting includes the discussion in the following subject-matters: Intangible patrimony. Study and Preservation; and The institution . History. Conservation experience.
According to the specialist, there are other such as; The collecting. Collections studies. Work of Out-standing Collectors; The Museum in the Community; and History, Restoration and Use of Monuments, Places, Areas of Protection and Historical Centers.
González added that there will be three exhibitions based on the Cuban industrial heritage, hereditary places in the world, and another one named Objects in Time, meanwhile the participants will work in two commissions.
‘The workshop will be a good moment for the update topics in the country, to exchanges between professionals, and in particular the link of these institutions with the communities’, the expert extended.
