Havana, Jun 3 (Prensa Latina) The 8th International Symposium for Islands Experts on Mechanical Ventilation will be hosted in Havana, as well as the 7th Pan American Congress on Intensive Care Nursing from June 9 to 12.
President of the Organizing Committee Pedro Luis Veliz said in a press conference that the two events are hosted for the first time by Cuba,in recognition of the work carried out by Cuban professionals in these two branches of the intensive and emergency care.
Physiology of the mechanical ventilated patient, basic principles of the mechanical ventilation, artificial airway, conventional ventilation methods, new ventilation techniques and complications of mechanical ventilation, are ones of the main subjects included in the scientific program of the symposium, which gathers experts from the Americas, Spain, Australia and the United Arab Emirates.
Issues related to care nursing in the mechanical ventilation, treatment of infections and training of human resources in intensive care will also be tackled, and various courses will take place prior to the event in different areas of the University of Medical Sciences of Havana and many hospitals of the city.
The Havana International Conference Center is the venue of the event, which also includes a commercial exhibition with the participation of renowned companies related to the field.
