HAVANA, Cuba, Sep 8 (acn) Cuba will participate at the 14th General Assembly of the Parliamentary Confederation of The Americas to take place September 9-11 in the Mexican state of Guanajuato, in which 15 countries have already confirmed attendance.
The president of the Cuban Parliament Foreign Relations Committee, Yolanda Ferrer, told reporters that during the forum will include the 13th Annual Meeting of the Network of Parliamentary Women.
The forum will debate important issues related to the environment, sustainable development, health, security and democracy, as well as the role of the media in political campaigns and the strengthening of democratic institutions. The prevention of epidemics and sanitary border security against Ebola and Chikungunya are also on the forum´s agenda.
The Parliamentary Confederation of The Americas includes representatives of national parliaments of all Latin American and Caribbean countries, Canada and The United States.
