Cuba to attend Madrid tourism fair

Havana, Jan 22 (Prensa Latina) Cuba’s attractions will be present during the 40th edition of the International Tourism Fair (FITUR) in Madrid, Spain, starting January 22 thru 26, one of the most relevant events of its kind in the world.

A report from the Cuban Ministry of Tourism (MINTUR) states that the island’s delegation is chaired by Cuban Tourism Minister Juan Carlos Garcia.

The presidents and commercial vice-presidents of the main hotel chains, travel agencies, as well as the associates that promote Cuba as a safe destination, will participate.

Also on the list are representatives of Cuban Medical Services, as well as Paradiso company and the Palacio de Convenciones through the PALCO Business Group.

The Caracol retail store chain will be represented by cigar roller Jose Castelar Cairo (Cueto), who holds the Guinness record for the world’s longest Havana cigars.

Prior to FITUR, the 22nd Conference of Ibero-American Ministers and Spanish Tourism Entrepreneurs (CIMET) took place, where Cuba participated.

The 40th edition of the International Tourism Fair (FITCuba) to be held on May 4 to 9 in Varadero resort, will take place this year, with Russia as a guest country, this time the event will be dedicated to the sun and beach modality.
