The high-ranking official, who is attending along with his official delegation the 16th Expocaribe Fair which takes place in the neighboring province of Santiago de Cuba, visited this city to exchange with students and professors of the University of Medical Sciences.
Fontenelle told the press that this year marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of bilateral relations between the two Caribbean nations and that what began as a health cooperation agreement has already spread to other sectors such as education, sports and food-processing industry.
She stressed that in last 6th CARICOM Summit, Cuba strengthened agreements with St. Lucia and others on important socio-cultural and economic spheres, in order to contribute to future agreements.
